A little about C.A.R.E.

C.A.R.E. began as an attempt to imagine what environmental work could look like when we stop separating people from the places and systems that sustain us. What started as an idea for an organization gradually became something less defined: an exploration of how we might learn, create, connect, and reflect our way toward more reciprocal relationships with one another and the living world. Along the way, C.A.R.E. grew beyond the structures I initially imagined for it. I began to see that meaningful change does not always need to be organized into a fixed institution or prescribed from the top down. It can emerge through relationships, shared knowledge, curiosity, creativity, and care. Today, C.A.R.E. is a living ecosystem. One that continues to grow, shift, and take shape through the people, ideas, experiences, and more-than-human relationships that move through it.

 

C.A.R.E. takes shape through four open-ended mediums: Learning, Connecting, Creating, and Reflecting. Through these, we gather to explore and learn from the world around us, build relationships across human and more-than-human communities, bring ideas into form, and make room for reflection and new understanding. These can look like guided hikes, community gatherings, shared meals, brainstorming sessions, creative projects, nature sits, meditation, conversations, and whatever else emerges from the people and relationships involved.
